The
Demont Difference
Demont
& Associates, Inc. strives to make a lasting difference through
philanthropy in our own communities and in the communities we serve.
Our associates have served hundreds of not-for-profit organizations
throughout the United States and now choose to serve not-for-profits
primarily in the Northeast.
Demont
actively demonstrates its commitment to philanthropy and is a proponent
and participant of “Give Five,” and contributes a minimum
of 10 percent of its profits and encourages associates to give a
minimum of 10 percent of their time to charitable organizations.
List of charitable recipients in 2005. Demont
associates (full- and part-time) leverage their charitable support
by participating in the company’s matching gift program, established
using CASE (Council for the Advancement and Support of Education)
guidelines. Demont matches gifts of cash or securities, and/or a
minimum number of volunteer hours given by an associate. In 2006,
associates gave their personal time and/or income to more than 175
not-for-profit organizations.
Since
1995 Demont has sponsored the Association of Fundraising Professionals,
Northern New England Chapter’s National Philanthropy Day Awards.
The awards publicly recognize individuals, families, corporations,
or foundations who have made significant contributions of time,
talent, or treasure to New England not-for-profit organizations
and in turn made a difference in lives and communities.
The
Demont Difference Fund was established in
1999 by Demont & Associates, Inc. The Fund endorses creative
efforts by not-for-profit organizations in Maine, New Hampshire,
and Vermont seeking to increase their long-term capacity to raise
private support and/or broaden their volunteer base.
The
Fund annually awards matching grants to smaller organizations not
considered capable of mounting a $1 million fund-raising effort
in the near term. Preference is given to funding projects which
leverage maximum fund-raising potential, develop long-term development
goals, and further philanthropic opportunities.
It
limits its grants to charitable organizations, activities, operations
or purposes that take place within the state of New Hampshire, Vermont,
Maine or benefit those states’ residents.
